Pacifica extends along 10 kilometers (6 mi) on the coast of California to the south of San Francisco, 21 kilometers (13 mi) from the city of Half Moon Bay, in the United States. The city offers beaches to admire the sunset and hills where you can walk and breathe fresh air. Its natural beauties allow visitors to practice activities such as hiking, mountain biking, surfing, swimming, fishing, diving, and horseback riding.

Pacifica has three beaches that host six competitions every year, one of them is Linda Mar Beach or Pacifica State Beach in the southernmost area of the city, one of the best spots for surfing in the Bay of San Francisco. This beach is ideal for novice surfers and for whale watching in summer. Rockaway Beach offers a beautifull scenery and beachfront hotels, restaurants, and shopping options as the Pacifica Farmers Market which is set once a week between May and December. This beach and the black-sand Sharp Park Beach, where Salada Lagoon is set, have waves only for experienced surfers.

Pacifica has picnic and hiking areas on the mountains such as San Pedro Valley Park, which has a visitors center with exhibitions of the local flora and fauna, living species, cycling paths, and views to the Brooks Waterfalls; the Frontierland Park has children’s playgrounds; the federal protected area of Sweeney Ridge; and Milagra Ridge, a mountain range that aims to preserve wildlife. This city is immersed in the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, one of the largest natural urban parks in the world that extends to San Francisco. Mori Point is a zone in Pacifica that is part of this park and offers trails full of wildflowers and headlands to watch the coast.

Pacifica has sports facilities such as the Sharp Park Golf Course, the Sea Bowl, and the Pacifica Skate Park for extreme sports. In addition, the 300-meter (984 ft) long Pacifica Municipal Pier is an ideal place for fishing and watching the whales during their migration period. Other historic buildings of the city include the Sanchez Adobe built in 1840 with wood from a Spanish shipwreck; the Little Brown Church, the first temple of the city; the Sam Castle, and the old railway stations along the coast.

The cultural attractions include the Pacifica Spindrift Players, the concerts and comedy shows at the Mildred Owen Concert Hall, and the exhibitions at the Sanchez Art Center and Art Guild of Pacifica. Visit the Shelldance Orchid Gardens or organize your trip to Pacifica during the last weekend of September to enjoy the Pacific Coast Fog Fest, a celebration of sun, sand, and surf with a parade, competitions, art exhibitions, activities for children, and concerts.
